Review: Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray

I've always envied girls with voluminous beachy waves and the only time I've ever gotten close to that look was when I actually spent an entire day at the beach. Now here's the catch, I hate going to the beach. The beaches in the city are disgustingly filled with cigarette butts, broken glass and other trash. On top of that, I seem to be spilling sand everywhere I go for at least two days afterwards and it drives me nuts. So my next best option is finding a beach spray to attain that beautiful surfer girl hair.

I've searched and searched and when this Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray ($16.25) from my Ipsy July Glam Bag, I thought this was a sign. I hoped I'd found the hair product I'd been so desperately searching for and to be honest while it's a lot better than the other beach sprays I've found it's not my holy grail.I tried other sprays in the past, I even caved in and bought the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray ($25) but none have ever been good enough. This Sexy Hair beach spray gives me the volume and texture I want but unfortunately it makes my hair incredibly tangled and within a few hours that beautiful beachy hair starts to fade. Granted my hair is incredibly uncooperative, I can use an entire can of hair spray and still there will be a flyaway, but I still have hope that one day I'll find a beach spray that will last. So unfortunately, while this is a great product, if you have uncooperative hair like mine this may not work out for you.

  2. Aw sorry to hear it didn't work as well for your hair. I still want to try it out, but since you said the Bumble and Bumble one worked better and I know that works for my hair, I might as well stick with that :D

  3. Yeah, I'm weird like that :P I honestly think it's because all the beaches I've gone to are pretty much in New York and we have terrible beaches.

  4. Yeah, the Bumble and Bumble held up better but gave my hair a crunchy feel, whereas this one didn't hold up for too long but at least I could run my fingers through my hair still. I wish I could find one that combines the best of both products!
