Review: Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon (Rose Romance)

I hope everybody had a very restful weekend because honestly mine went by in the blink of an eye. I have a pretty messed up sleep schedule now but I'm determined to get it back on track before Electric Zoo this weekend. Anyways, this review is long overdue since this product came in my July Ipsy Glam Bag. If you want to see the other products that came in my July bag, you can hop on over here and watch my 'July 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag' unboxing video.

I believe this product came in a few different shades so other people might have gotten nicer colors but right off the bat I'm going to tell you that I wasn't very impressed by this Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Rose Romance. The packaging was cute and functional, being that it's a twist-up lip crayon so I don't have to sharpen it or anything. However, when it came down to the product itself it was quite disappointing.

The formulation even judging by my photos looks like it's dry and chalky, which it definitely is. The crayon drags on my lips and is somewhat difficult to apply. When reading the descriptions of this product online it claims it's supposed to be hydrating and moisturizing but all I get is a matte chalky finish.

Aside from formulation, the pigmentation is truly lacking for this lip crayon. If you look at my swatch below it's extremely sheer and somewhat hard to see against my skin. Once on my lips you can hardly notice a difference in lip color, if anything it just gives my lips a purple-ish tinge. Judging by my swatch however, you'd think it'd be more pink than purple.

In terms of longevity, this product wears off in a matter of minutes because it's so sheer and has a matte finish. Once I drink a cup of water it's like I never even put a lip crayon on. I think if there was some gloss and shine to the product it might last longer but unfortunately it's lacking in all areas.

All in all I would not recommend this product. The formulation was dry and chalky, there was very little color and it lacked in staying power. I really have nothing good to say about this product but I can't really complain since I did get it as part of my $10 Ipsy subscription so I at least got a very good deal on it.
