I'm sure all my regular readers could already tell but in case you're new to this blog, I'm a huge fan of the Revlon Lip Butters! When I heard that a new set of shades were coming out for Spring/Summer I made a mental note to pick at least one of them up the next time I made a stop at Target to get groceries. I had done a little bit of research before I went and was really torn between the shades Juicy Papaya and Wild Watermelon ($6.49).
And as if everything from this post's title to its photos didn't give it away already, I opted for the Wild Watermelon shade. All the reviews I had read about this particular shade described it as a lip color that makes it look as if you've just been sucking on a popsicle. That was the big selling point for me. I adore the shade my lips turn after I've been eating a cherry or strawberry popsicle for a while, not so much grape or whatever flavor blue is (raspberry?), and I'm always looking to achieve that look.
To my delight this product does give your lips that popsicle tint and the Revlon Lip Butter formula never fails to deliver. Lip Butters are a lipstick lip balm hybrid that has been really popular these days and although the formula isn't buildable, it provides sheer to medium color that is great for a more casual look. It also makes a great introductory red shade along with Maybelline's Baby Lips in Cherry Me. As for its longevity, the color lasts on my lips for approximately 2-3 hours without eating or drinking.
The packaging is nothing different from the other Lip Butters and it's very similar to Revlon's entire ColorBurst line. The product comes in a rectangular tube with a quilted cap in a color representative of the Lip Butter's shade. I do like the packaging, especially since it's one of the better drugstore lip product packages.
I would recommend this product to anybody who is looking to rock a sheer red lip for the Spring/Summer. The just sucked on a popsicle look is one of my favorites for the warmer months and it looks super cute day and night!
