Review: L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara

Between job hunting, finals and graduation, I haven't had the time to try out many new products. But today I come to you with a (fairly) new product in hand, the L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara ($7.97+). It's advertised in magazines, has its own TV commercial and is talked about all over YouTube so naturally I had to try it.

The packaging is nothing special, which isn't a surprise since it's a drugstore mascara but what makes this product unique is its wand. Most mascara wands are conical in shape and vary only by bristle type and placement. The L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara has short plastic bristles but instead of covering the entire wand in bristles there are only three rows of them. It's difficult to explain in words so I'd suggest checking out the L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara during your next trip to the drugstore.

The formula plus the unique wand design helps to lengthen lashes without clumping and the waterproof formula stays put all day while holding my curl. I've gotten tons of compliments from friends about how long and fluttery my lashes look when I use this mascara and it has quickly become my favorite drugstore mascara.

  1. Looks interesting! I usually like the natural bristles mascaras but I haven't had a new drugstore mascara for so long so I should go take a look!
