Review: Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream

I don't sleep.

Alright, I'll be a little less dramatic. I don't sleep as much as I should, and because of that my skin suffers. I have dark circles under my eyes and puffiness 24/7. Though I'm certain that getting more sleep would be much more effective than an eye cream, I'm in my last semester of college, interning part time and looking for a job, so sleep is going to have to wait.

This Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream ($30) claims to instantly de-puff and reduce dark circles, which is just what I need from my morning eye cream.

The packaging is nothing extraordinary but the product itself is unlike any other eye cream I've ever tried. The cream is light in consistency and has a peach tint to it with a subtle sheen. I'm assuming the color and sheen is supposed to brighten the area under my eyes to make it appear as if I've gotten more sleep than I actually have.

I've been using the Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream every morning for the past three weeks and I have noticed that immediately after applying it the area under my eyes appears to be brighter. However, I haven't noticed a significant decrease in puffiness or reduction in the severity of my dark circles. To be honest, I don't think there is any miracle in a bottle for reducing puffiness or dark circles so I'm more satisfied with this product than disappointed.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream gets the job done in the morning by helping me appear more awake. Even though it hasn't made a noticeable difference in the overall puffiness and dark circles, I'm still very happy with my purchase and if nothing better gets introduced on the market I'm sure I'll repurchase.

Until then, I guess it's time for me to get some more sleep!

  1. I've been seeing a lot of blog posts about Origins, and though I've only tried a couple items from them, I'm thinking I need to revisit their skincare line soon! Thanks for the review! I will need to check this out at Sephora soon! :)

  3. It's true. You can't actually get rid of dark circles other than sleep! With the puffiness, you're better off putting something cold on your undereyes. I've used this eye cream as well and like you said, it's the slight shimmer that sort of brightens up your undereye area. Other than, nothing too special!

  4. Unfortunately I can't get rid of them even with all the sleep in the world because my dark circles are hereditary. I've yet to find anything that covers them completely (or even makes them half as bad), so I'm thinking I'll just embrace them!
