I don't typically reach for gel eyeliner but I've recently been getting back into the softer yet still precise look that it gives. I previously owned the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($24) but after having it for around 3 years the product finally dried up. Instead of repurchasing the Bobbi Brown liner I decided to try the ever-popular MAC Blacktrack Fluidline ($16).
The liner comes in a glass container with a black top, very MAC-esque. There is 0.1 oz of product in the jar, which is the same amount of product as there was in the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner. The liner looks incredibly creamy and soft, which is a good representation of how the liner goes on. It glides onto your lids easily but it does not smudge or travel during application.
The color is a true black and it has a soft powdery finish. My only dilemma is that I tend to tear a lot so the product disappears after a few hours in the outer-corners of my eyes. I'd say it lasts about 4-5 hours before fading or completely disintegrating away. I wore this out one night, looked in the mirror and saw the tail-end of my cat-eye liner was completely missing!

Have you tried the wet n wild gel liner? I had that one before, and that one was pretty good. It didn't budge, and the staying power is great. :)

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely check it out since Wet n Wild is so affordable (:
ReplyDeleteAw it sucks that the staying power isn't as strong. I've been using Maybelline's and MUFE's gel liners. I like them both :D
