I finally bought a Wet N' Wild palette! It was actually a spur of the moment purchase because my boyfriend needed to go to CVS, and as he was checking out I saw that all Wet N' Wild cosmetics were 40% off so I couldn't resist. I picked up the palette in Blue Had Me At Hello because I figured I didn't have any blue shades in my collection and since it's a color I don't wear often, I wouldn't want to spend too much money on it.
The first thing I looked at was the packaging. It comes in a very cheap plastic package that looks like it would shatter if I ever dropped it. There are 8 shades in each of the ColorIcon palettes and every shadow is labeled as to how they should be used. Of course you can use an eyelid shade in your crease or vice versa but it helps to give a good idea on how to mix and match the colors if you need some inspiration.
The shadows do live up to their high quality standards that everyone sets for them; they're definitely well pigmented for a very affordable drugstore eyeshadow. However, the lighter shades don't show up quite as well as the darker shades but that's fine with me since I did only pay a few bucks for this entire palette. Also, since you get a lot of shadow in each pan, it doesn't feel as wrong if you have to swipe your brush a few times to get enough pigmentation.

Ooh great buy, Elle! These colors are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey are! I just wish I had double eyelids so they wouldn't look so clown-like on my eyes. I have to be very careful with these shades and make sure I don't apply too much. I'll probably get a more neutral palette next time.
DeleteI've never tried W&W palette but I will now! thanks for sharing ^_~
ReplyDeleteThis was the first palette I've ever tried and I'm totally hooked. I can't wait to get more!
