This Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner ($15) was in my most recent Sephora, Lush & Sigma Haul and I had mentioned that I purchased it for my Florida vacation since I noticed my Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner ($17.99) was drying out. My reasoning behind purchasing this specific eyeliner was that I had heard many rave reviews of this product in the beauty community. Bloggers and YT gurus were constantly going on and on about how pigmented, long lasting and easy to use it was. Unfortunately, I'd have to disagree with them.
Don't get me wrong, the product is definitely very pigmented. With just one swipe you get a deep true black color that would work great with a smokey eye. But when it came to being long lasting and easy to use, I experienced something totally different.
This was the only eyeliner I brought with me on vacation so I was forced to use it every day while I was in Florida, which was 9 days in total. The weather was chilly so I wasn't sweating but by the end of the day I could see patches of the liner missing on some parts of my eyelids. I do have monolids, so it is easier for liners to rub off on me, but I have found liners that stay on and this one couldn't cut it. Also, if I wanted to go on a water ride I would come out looking like the grudge! The liner would bleed at the ends and I'd have to rub it off and it wore off twice as fast.
As for being easy to use...it definitely isn't for me. If you're looking to draw on thick solid lines all the time then this liner would be perfect, but as you can see from the photo below, the tip is quite rounded and not very precise, making a thin cat eye almost impossible. I constantly had problems with applying too much eyeliner because the rounded sides would always bleed onto my lid. Needless to say, it was not easy to do any precise lines with this product.

I prefer wearing thin lines over thick so I probably would skip this instead. Thanks for the review ^_~
ReplyDeleteNo problem! I'm more about precise lines that I can eventually build up to a thick one since I feel I have more control that way.
DeleteOMG, I totally agree with you Elle! I thought I was the only one that I didn't find this as amazing as everyone said it was! I found the line it made thick as well AND it feathered and bled on me during the day which rarely happens with me as my eyes aren't oily at all.
ReplyDeleteGood to know you felt the same way! I was hearing all these rave reviews but I just couldn't get myself to like it. I really don't think it's all that, there's tons of better and cheaper eyeliners out there.
DeleteYikes! The grudge??? Scary!!
ReplyDeleteTell me about it. I looked in the mirror after I got off one of the water rides and I almost scared myself! :O
DeleteBooooo, do not want Grudge look D:
ReplyDeleteHah, definitely a look I'm not going for :P
